प्रश्न
Why was the Congress Party known as a social and ideological coalition? Explain.
उत्तर
Congress was also a social and ideological coalition. The Congress was a social coalition that reflected India's diversity in terms of classes and castes, religions and languages, and various interests. It catered to the revolutionary and the pacifist, the conservative and the radical, the extremist and the moderate, as well as the right, left, and all shades of the centre. The Congress provided a venue for various groups, interests, and even political parties to participate in the national movement. Many organizations and parties with their own constitutions and organizational structures were permitted to exist within Congress prior to independence. Despite differences in methods, specific programs, and policies, the party was able to resolve the differences and reach an agreement.
