उत्तर

10 g of caustic soda dissolved in 100 mL of water makes a solution of caustic soda. Amount of caustic soda needed for 1 litre of water to make the same type of solution is 100 g.

Explanation:

Given, 10 g of caustic soda dissolved in 100 mL water.

The ratio of caustic soda to water should be  in proportion.

10 g : 100 mL :: x g : 1 L

`(10  g)/(100  mL) = (x  g)/(1000  mL)`  .....[∵ 1 L = 1000 mL]

⇒ `x  g xx 100` mL = `10  g xx 1000` mL  .....[By corss-multiplication]

`x = (10  g xx 1000  mL)/(100  mL)`

x = 100 g
