In a single throw of a die, the possible outcomes are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
∴ Total number of outcomes = 6
The favourable outcomes are 2, 3 and 5.
So, the number of favourable outcomes are 3.
∴ P(getting a prime number) =\[\frac{\text{ Favourable number of outcomes }}{\text{ Total number of outcomes }} = \frac{3}{6} = \frac{1}{2}\]
