प्रश्न
A number is first decreased by 40% and then again decreased by 60%. Find the percentage increase or decrease on the whole.
उत्तर
Let the number be 100.
Decrease = 40%
`100 xx 40/100 = 40`
100 - 40 = 60
Second No = `100 xx 60/100 = 60`
Again decrease = 60%
Second No = `60 xx 40/100`
= 24
Total decrease = 100 - 24 = 76
Percentage decrease = `76/100 xx 100`
= 76%
