प्रश्न
An alloy consists of `27(1)/(2)` kg of copper and `2(3)/(4)` kg of tin. Find the ratio by weight of tin to the alloy.
उत्तर
Copper = `27(1)/(2) "kg" = (55)/(2)"kg"`,
Tin = `2(3)/(4)"kg" = (11)/(4)"kg"`
Total alloy
= `(55)/(2) + (11)/(4)`
= `(110 + 11)/(4)`
= `(121)/(4)"kg"`
Now Ratio between tin and alloy
= `(11)/(4)"kg" : (121)/(4)"kg"`
= 11 : 121
= 1 : 11
