Location:- Tamil Nadu is located in the Southernmost part of the country. It is one of the 29 states of India.
Extent:- Latitudinally this landmass extends from 8°4’N to 13°35’N and longitudinally from 76°18’E to 80°20’E longitudes.
Extremities:- Its Eastern and Western extremities are defined by the point calimere and the hills of Anaimalai respectively.
The Northern extremity of the state is Pulicate lake and the Southernmost point is Cape Comorin.
Area:- It covers an area of 1,30,058 sq. km covering 4% of the area of our country.
Size:- It is the 11th largest state.
