What is the significance of the Second Battle of Panipat (1556 ce)?

In the second battle of Panipat, Akbar’s army under the leadership of Bairam Khan defeated and killed Hemu, the general of Adil Shah who had occupied the city of Delhi. Due to this battle, the Afghan power was crushed and Akbar’s throne became safe from enemies.
