What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully aware of where we are and what we are doing. It means that we should not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what's going on around us. Mindfulness refers to mental awareness that helps to focus on the 'Here and Now'. It helps to increase self-regulation, which results in growth and happiness. Mindfulness is maintaining a moment by moment awareness of our bodily sensations, environment, thoughts, and feelings.
