प्रश्न
Define isotonic solutions
उत्तर १
Isotonic solutions: Two or more solutions exerting the same osmotic pressure are
called isotonic solutions.
eg. 0.05 M (3.0 g L−1) urea solution and 0.05 M (17.19 g L−1) sucrose solution are
isotonic because their osmotic pressures are the same. If these solutions are separated by a semipermeable membrane, there is no flow of solvent in either direction.
उत्तर २
Two solutions having the same osmotic pressure at a given temperature are called isotonic solutions.
