प्रश्न
Discuss how the unhapiness of the Indian aritisans and craftsmen became a factor for 1857 revolt.
उत्तर
The British rulers deliberately crippled Indian arts and crafts by imposing heavy duties on Indian silk and cotton textiles in Britain. On the other hand British goods were imported into India at a nominal duty. Millions of artisans and craftsmen who lost their job and had no alternative source of income became unhappy with the foreign rule.
