उत्तर

Port

Harbour

Ports are mainly used for commercial purposes along the coastline.

Harbours are/may be natural or man-made connecting a piece of land with a large water body.

They are used for the export and import of goods.

Harbours mainly provide safe anchorage to ships during bad weather.

Indented coasts provide natural ports.

River estuaries provide a natural harbour.

Ports usually have more commercial facilities like cranes and lifts to move heavy cargo.

A harbour has fewer commercial facilities as it is merely a place of safety.
