प्रश्न
Answer the following question in 120-150 words:
Everyone who comes into contact with Griffin suffers. Attempt a character sketch of Griffin in the light of this remark.
उत्तर
The character of Griffin appears as the protagonist of the novel 'The invisible man' written by
H. G. Wells in the year 1897. The character is enveloped in mystery and suspense from the very beginning of the novel. The writer highlights the modern man going astray, digressing from the path of morality and also engulfing the people in his radius. Griffin was an intelligent scientist who worked with a focused mind to master the art of invisibility. But soon his passion distorts into the obsession.
Griffin enters Dr. Kemps house accidently and reveals his plan to begin a "Reign of Terror" by using his invisibility to terrorise the nation. The Griffin is denounced by Kemp at once. Griffin fights the local authorities and the next day leaves a note announcing that Kemp himself will be the first man to be killed in the "Reign of Terror". The incident highlights the fact that even though Dr. Kemp was not involved in the plan of Griffin, he suffers the threat. A similar trap is faced by Marvel, who is forced to become Griffin's accomplice.
