Explain the importance of syngamy and meiosis in a sexual life cycle of an organism.
उत्तर
The process of sexual reproduction involves the fusion of male and female gametes. Two events, namely, syngamy and meiosis are very important for the sexual life cycle of any organism. The event meiosis refers to reductional division to reduce the number of chromosomes to half and help in gamete formation, while the event syngamy refers to the fusion of haploid gametes and formation of diploid zygote.
