Indian companies are projected to provide technological and material services to developing African countries. The Indian government now sees the African Indian diaspora as an asset.
- Concerns have been raised about the Indian Ocean's peace and security. The rising number of piracy incidents in Somalia's waterways, as well as the terrorism situation, have rendered this region sensitive to Indians.
