प्रश्न
Explain the different types of endosperms in angiosperms.
उत्तर
Different types of endosperms in angiosperms are:
1. Free nuclear: It is the most common type of endosperm – a nuclear division of endosperm is not followed by cell wall formation and nuclei remain free e.g., coconut, water.
2. Cellular: Division of endosperm nucleus is immediately followed by cell wall formation so endosperm is cellular from beginning e.g., peperomia, villarsia Drimys.
3. Helobial: It is intermediate between cellular and nuclear type. Partition develops which divides endosperm into large micropylar and small chalazal chambers e.g. Vallisneria, Erimus.
