थोडक्यात उत्तर

उत्तर

In India, weaving has been practiced for thousands of years. Agriculture was the second most important. The globe was familiar with the textiles and weaves from different parts of the planet. Indian textiles were known for their richness, fineness, and designs, ranging from Bengal muslin to Kashmiri, Banarasi, and Kancheevaram silks. Then, industrialisation caused them to face challenges.

Power looms are quicker and can produce huge amounts quickly. Fashion houses purchase fabric from weavers, name it, and then sell it at a significantly higher price than the craftspeople would have received. The artisans are still unrecognised, their art is not respected, and they lead impoverished lives. Ancient talents are being forgotten, and some people are struggling by taking out loans. They kill themselves when they have too much debt. Sons of master weavers are sent to work in the cities. They don't want the sons to face difficulties. Girls will not be married to weavers by their parents. They are devoid of amenities like water and lighting. Even though the government has provided weavers with subsidies, the majority of these funds are lost to bribery, and the weavers only receive little amounts.
