In the given figure, there are 13 small squares
Given, area of 1 small square = 1 sq cm
∴ Area of 13 small squares = 13 × Area of a small square
= 13 × 1 sq cm

Also, side of a small square = 1 cm
Now, perimeter of the given figure = Sum of all its sides
= (1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 ) cm
= 27 cm
