Give geographical reasons for the following
Cotton grows widely in Maharashtra.

Cotton is grown widely in Maharashtra as it grows well in well-drained clayey soil. Also while growing cotton, the minimum temperature should not drop below 200C and rainfall should be moderate. All these climatic conditions exist in Maharashtra and thus it is widely grown here.
