Give two reasons for the importance of the silk industry in India.

(i) India is the largest producer of silk in the world and has long tradition of manufacturing silk textile.
(ii) It also make four distinct variety of silk namely mulberry, eri, tasar and munga. India also has its control over yellow munga silk produced from Assam.
