4. Gradually, the uprising spread over 33 villages and the peasants looted the property of Marwari Sahukars.
5. The uprising turned into violence when the Sahukars took the help of the police.
6. It was suppressed only when the army was called to control it. However, it resulted in the passing of the Deccan Agriculturists Relief Act’ which removed some of the most serious grievances of the peasants.
