Climate Conditions required for Wheat Cultivation in India: For wheat cultivation, a temperature of 10°C at the time of sowing and 15°C – 20°C at the time of ripening. Also, annual rainfall of 50 – 70 cm is required for wheat cultivation. Fertile alluvial soil or mixed soil in plains land or gentle slope is ideal for wheat cultivation. Isohyets of 100 cm are the limit of wheat production.
(ii)
The two main wheat-growing areas of China are the Great Plain including Wei Ho Valley and the Shantung Peninsula.
