प्रश्न
If a : b = 3 : 5, find (3a + 5b): (7a – 2b).
उत्तर
a : b = 3 : 5
⇒ `a/b = (3)/(5)`
⇒ 3a + 5n : 7a – 2b
Dividing each term by b
`3a/b + 5 : 3a/b - 2`
⇒ `3 xx (3)/(5) + 5 : 7 xx (3)/(5) - 2`
⇒ `(9/5 + 5) : (21/5 - 2)`
⇒ `(9 + 25)/(5) : (21 - 10)/(5)`
⇒ `(34)/(5) : (11)/(5)`
= 34 : 11.
