firstly, Skander, in my opinion, is so insistent because he, perhaps, needs a photograph of his friend. It is so because we are generally keen to keep the photographs of our friends. 

Secondly, he may also be keen to have the photograph of a living being of the Earth which, for him and others on the Aurigae 11, may be a novel and unique thing Thirdly, he, being very inquisitive and being a scientist, may have a desire to know more about the human species .
