Lactational amenorrhoea, a condition in which breastfeeding suppresses ovulation, frequently prevents infertility in heavily lactating moms. Prolactin, the hormone that causes milk production, is elevated in these moms. Excessive prolactin levels might interfere with ovulation and make it harder for a woman to get pregnant.
