प्रश्न
Mohit, a dealer in electronic goods, buys a high-class TV set for Rs 61,200. He sells this TV set to Geeta, Geeta to Rohan and Rohan sells it to Manoj. If the profit at each stage is Rs 2,000 and the rate of VAT at each stage is 12.5%, find:
1) total amount of tax (under VAT) paid to the Government.
2) Money paid by Manoj to buy the TV set.
उत्तर
Mohit sold TV set to Geeta with Profit Rs 2000
∴ Selling price by Mohit = Rs (61200 + 2000) = Rs 63200
Sales tax paid by Geeta = `(12.5)/100 xx 63200 = Rs 7900`
Geeta sold TV set to Rohan with Profit Rs 2000
∴ Selling price by Geeta = Rs (63200 + 2000) = Rs 65200
Sales tax paid by Rohan = `(12.5)/100 xx 65200 = Rs 8150`
Rohan sold TV set to Manoj with profit Rs 2000
∴ Selling price by Rohan = `Rs (65200 + 2000) = Rs 67200`
Sales price by Rohan = `Rs 12.5/100 xx 67200 = Rs 8400`
Money paid by Manoj to buy the TV set
= 67200 + 8400
= 75600
