   • Shelves should be there for spices, condiments and lightweight utensils.
   • Top of the island can be used for hob, sink or serves as extra work surface. 
   • The smallest size island can be 600*900 mm.
   • It needs a large room. It is an extended version of L-shaped or U-shaped Kitchen with an additional work area in the middle.
   • One of the work area should be located in the central position that serves as the spaces focal point. It should be accessible from all points.
