प्रश्न

Obtain a sample of rainwater. Add to it a few drops of universal indicator. Measure its pH. Describe the nature of the sample of rainwater and explain the effect it has on the living world.

थोडक्यात उत्तर

उत्तर

When a few drops of the global indicator are added to the rainwater sample, the pH value of that water becomes slightly less than 7, i.e. 6.5, which means that this water is slightly acidic. This water contains micronutrients and nutrients. Nitrates are formed in this water due to nitrogen coming from the air. Therefore, providing natural fertilizer for living things is helpful, especially for plants and vegetation. Due to acid rainwater, river water's pH decreases while flowing in the river. Thus, it becomes difficult for aquatic creatures to survive during such times.
