As we know that:

Mean of the data `(barx) = (sum_(i = 1)^n f_ix_i)/(sum_(i = 1)^n f_i)`

= `(4 xx 4 + 8 xx 6 + 14 xx 8 + 11 xx 10 + 3 xx 12)/(4 + 8 + 14 + 11 + 3)`

= `(16 + 48 + 112 + 110 + 36)/40`

= `322/40`

= 8.05

Hence, the mean of the given data set is 8.05.
