Demonetization helps the government to track people who are having large sums of unaccounted cash. This also reduces black money, criminal activities, financing, and gambling. However, it causes turmoil and hysteria among the general populace. Demonetized notes should be disposed of as quickly as possible, according to everyone. It can occasionally result in issues with law and order and a chaotic environment, particularly in banks. because there is no other way to convert between old and new monetary units. 

Another drawback is that it takes money to produce new currency units and destroy existing currency units. The government must pay for it because demonetization is useless if the costs outweigh the advantages. The majority of the time, this action is intended to target black money, but if people have not utilised their black money to buy real estate, gold, or other assets instead of cash, there is no assurance that demonetization would aid in the capture of corrupt individuals. Demonetization is a great tool to capture the leaders of illegal activities, notwithstanding all the negative aspects or negatives.
