उत्तर

Let the number be x

`5/2` of this number = `(5x)/2`

`(5x)/2 - 7 = 23`

`(5x)/2 = 23 + 7`     ...(Transposing -7 to R.H.S)

`(5x)/2 = 30`

Multiplying both sides by 2,

`(5x xx 2)/2`

= 30 × 2

5x = 60

Dividing both sides by 5,

`(5x)/5 = 60/5`

x = 12
