प्रश्न
Solve for x and y:
x − 3y = 7
3x − 3y = 5
बेरीज
उत्तर
Given:
x − 3y = 7 ...(i)
3x − 3y = 5 ...(ii)
Solving equations and (i) and (ii) simultaneously we get,
x − 3y = 7
3x − 3y = 5
− + −
−2x = (2)
x = (−1)
Now, substitute value of x in equation (i) we get
−1 − 3y = 7
⇒ −3y = 7 + 1
⇒ −3y = 8
∴ y = `(−8)/3`
Hence, x = −1 and y = `(−8)/3`
