प्रश्न
Solve the following quadratic equation by completing the square method
9x2 – 12x + 4 = 0
उत्तर
9x2 – 12x + 4 = 0
`x^2 - (12x)/(9) + (4)/(9)` = 0 ...(Dividend by 9)
`x^2 - (4x)/3 = (-4)/(9)`
Add `[1/2 (4/3)]^2` on both sides
`x^2 - (4x)/3 + (2/3)^2 = - 4/9 + (2/3)^2`
`(x - 2/3)^2 = -4/9 + 4/9`
`(x - 2/3)^2` = 0
⇒ `x - 2/3` = 0
x = `2/3`
The solution is `2/3`
