प्रश्न
State the role of C peptide in human insulin.
उत्तर
Mammalian insulin is synthesised as a prohormone which undergoes processing to become a fully mature and functional insulin molecule. The prohormone contains an extra chain called C peptide which is removed during the conversion of prohormone to the mature hormone insulin.
