प्रश्न

The Coulomb force (F) versus (1/r2) graphs for two pairs of point charges (q1 and q2) and (q2 and q3) are shown in figure. The charge q2 is positive and has least magnitude. Then:

पर्याय

  • q1 > q2 > q3

  • q1 > q3 > q2

  • q3 > q2 > q1

  • q3 > q1 > q2

MCQ

उत्तर

q3 > q1 > q2

Explanation:

`tantheta = F/(1//r^2)`

F . r2 = tan θ

We have, `F = (Kq_1q_2)/r^2`

F r2 = Kq1q2

∴ Kq1q2 = tan θ1   ...(i)

and Kq2q3 = tan θ2   ...(ii)

`q_1/q_3 = (tantheta_1)/(tantheta_2)`

⇒ `q_3 = q_1(tantheta_2)/(tantheta_1)`

From the figure, θ2 is more than θ1.

So, q3 will be more than q1.

Since the charge q2 has the least magnitude, the decreasing order of magnitude of charges will be q3 > q1 > q2.
