प्रश्न

The figure below shows a lever in use:

  1. To which class of lever does it belong?
  2. If AB = 1 m, AF = 0.4 m, find its mechanical advantage.
  3. Calculate the value of E.

उत्तर

Load arm AF = 0.4 m

∴ Effort arm BF = 1 – 0.4 = 0.6 m

Load = 15 kgf

(a) ∵ Between load and effort is F. It is class I lever.

(b) M.A. = `"Effort arm BF"/"Load arm AF"`

= `0.6 / 0.4`

= 1.5

(c) E × Effort arm = L × Load arm

E × 0.6 = 15 × 0.4

E = `6.0/0.6`

= 10 kgf
