प्रश्न
The graphs (X) and (Y) given below depict the diurnal variations in the solar radiations in the month of (Summer) and in December (Winters):
- Which of the two graphs depicts tropical regions and temperate regions respectively?
- Which of the two regions (X) or (Y) will show high biological diversity and why?
उत्तर
- The temperate region is represented by graph X, whereas the tropical region is represented by graph Y. The tropical region receives the same quantity of solar energy all year round. The temperate region, however, has a bigger contrast in summer and winter temperatures. The area experiences significant sun radiation and heat during the summer. The area gets frigid throughout the winter because of low solar radiation receptivity.
- As this latitude receives more solar energy than the temperate region, resulting in high productivity and a large diversity of plants and animals, the tropical region will exhibit significant biological diversity. Their climate is more consistent.
