प्रश्न

What are the reasons that you can think of for the arthropods to constitute the largest group of the animal kingdom?

थोडक्यात उत्तर

उत्तर

  • Arthropods make up the majority of the animal kingdom and are the most successful category of creatures. They comprise more than three-quarters of all currently known living and extinct species and have conquered the land, sea, and air.
  • Their range extends from high summits to the deep sea. The exoskeleton, which shields the creature from predators, helps it tolerate temperatures of up to 100°C or more, and stops water loss, is made up of thick, durable, non-living chitinous cuticle.
  • They can reproduce quickly, and it takes them less time for their eggs to hatch into offspring.
  • There is less rivalry for food between the larval and adult forms as a result of metamorphosis. Cockroaches can withstand radioactive decay and toxic soil conditions.
  • The largest phylum of animals is the arthropods because of all these criteria.
