Who was Fa-hien? What did he say about India?

Fa-hien was a Chinese pilgrim who traveled all over India for more than 13 years. The Chinese traveller visited India at the time of Chandragupta-II (Vikramaditya). He was deeply impressed by the ideal and mild administration affected by Buddhism, the economic prosperity of Pataliputra and Magadha, and the simplicity of the people. He had also mentioned about the versatile religions including Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism, Buddhism and Jainism etc.
