Why it is necessary banking of a road?

थोडक्यात उत्तर

उत्तर

When an automobile turns, it moves in a circular manner. The force of static friction between the car's tires and the road surface is the required centripetal force if the road is level, often known as a horizontal road. The type of surfaces in contact, as well as the presence of water and oil on the road, all affect friction. An automobile travelling at a high speed runs the risk of skidding off the road. The friction cannot be counted on to supply the required centripetal force because it fluctuates with the situation. Furthermore, friction causes the tires to deteriorate quickly. On a banked road, the resultant of the normal reaction and the gravitational force can act as the necessary centripetal force. Thus, every car can be safely driven on such a banked curve at a certain optimum speed, without depending on friction. Hence, a road should be properly banked at a bend.
