1. It is the light-sensitive innermost, fragile, non-vascular layer.
2. It is divided into two regions.
3. A pigmented section on the outside and a worried area on the inside. The inner nerve system is translucent and composed of three layers:
   • Rod and cone cells make up the outer photosensitive layer.
   • Bipolar nerve cells in the middle layer
   • Ganglion cell inner layer. The optic nerve is made up of nerve fibres that emerge from the basal end of ganglion cells.
4. The blind spot is the region of the retina where the optic nerve exits the eyeball. This area is devoid of rod and cone cells. The yellow area, or macula lutea, is located lateral to and above the blind spot. Its centre is a depression known as the fovea centralis. It has the highest density of cone cells and is the site of the sharpest vision creation.
5. Photo receptor cells : These are divided into two types: (a) rod cells and (b) cone cells. The cones are in charge of daytime (Photopic) and colour vision, whereas the rods are in charge of low-light (Scotopic) vision. There are three types of cones that respond to red, green, and blue light.
