Some weeds also hinder harvesting and can be poisonous to humans and animals. Farmers adopt various methods to remove weeds and control their growth. Ploughing the field before growing the crop helps in uprooting and removing weeds.
2. This causes the weed plants to dry up and die and mix with the soil. The best time to remove weeds is before they flower and form seeds. Weeds are removed from time to time by uprooting them with their roots by hand or by cutting them near the soil. This work is done with the help of a hoe or cultivator.
