Question

3x - 4y = 10 , 4x + 3y = 5 find the values of Dx and Dy to solve
the simultaneous equations by Cramer’s method

Solution

3x - 4y = 10
4x + 3y = 5
∴ Dx =`|[10,-4],[5,3]|` = 10 × 3 - 5 × (-4) = 30 + 20 = 50
∴ Dy =`|[3,10],[4,5]|` = 3 × 5 - 4 × 10 = 15 - 40 = -25
