Question
A bag contains 30 discs numbered from 1 to 30. One disc is drawn at random from the bag. Find the probability that it bears a number divisible by 6.
Solution
S = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... 30}
n(S) = 30
Divisible by 6
E = {6, 12, 18, 24, 30}
n(E) = 5
Required Probability = `(n(E))/(n(S))`
= `5/30`
= `1/6`
