A company declares 8 percent dividend to the share holders. If a man receives Rs. 2840 as his dividend, find the nominal value of his shares.

Solution

Rate of dividend = 8%
Amount of dividend = Rs.2840
∴ Nominal value of shares

= `(2840 xx 100)/(8)`
= Rs.35500.
