  1. 2, 4, 6-Trichlorophenol (TCP) is a more potent antiseptic than phenol.
  2. It has low corrosive effects as compared to phenol if used in lower concentrations. Hence, diluted solution (4.8% w/v) of 2, 4, 6-trichlorophenol is used as antiseptic.
