When a fair die is tossed twice, the sample sp ace S is given by

        (3, 1), (3, 2), (3, 3), (3, 4), (3, 5), (3, 6),
        (4, 1), (4, 2), (4, 3), (4, 4), (4, 5), (4, 6),
        (5, 1), (5, 2), (5, 3), (5, 4), (5, 5), (5, 6),
        (6, 1), (6, 2), (6, 3), (6, 4), (6, 5), (6, 6)}

∴ n (S) = 36

Let D = the event that product of numbers is 12

∴ D = {(2, 6), (3, 4), (4, 3), (6, 2)}

∴ n(D) = 4

∴ P(D) = `("n"("D"))/("n"("S"))`

= `4/36`

= `1/9`
