Question
A force acts for 0.1 s on a body of mass 2.0 kg initially at rest. The force is then withdrawn and the body moves with a velocity of 2 ms-1. Find the average force applied by the player
Solution
Time for which force is applied = 0.1 s.
Mass of body = 2 kg
Initial velocity of body = 0 ms-1
Final velocity of body = 2 ms-1.
We know FX t = m (v - u)
F X 0.1 = 2 (2 - 0)
F = 4 /0.1 = 40 N.
