Question
A force of 10 N acts on a body of mass 2 kg for 3 s, initially at rest. Calculate:
Change in momentum of the body.
Short Note
Solution
Time for which force is applied =3 s.
Mass of the body = 2 kg.
Initial speed of body = 0 ms-1
Force applied = 10 N.
As m(v - u) is change in momentum and this is equal to the F X t so change in momentum is equal to the 30 kgms-1.
