A garrison of 1200 men has provisions for 15 days. How long will the provisions last if the garrison be increased by 600 men?
Solution
1200 men has provision for = 15 days
1 man will have that provision for = 15 × 1200 days
∴1200 + 600 = 1800 men will has that provisions for = `(15 xx 1200)/1800` days
= 10 days
