A person was using water supplied by corporation. Due to shortage of water he started using underground water. He felt laxative effect. What could be the cause?
Solution
Drinking water containing a moderate level of sulphatcs is harmless. But excessive concentration (>500 ppm) of suiphates in drinking water causes laxative effect.
